MESSAGEMessage from the Chief Develop Officer

The time has come when dreams will no longer be dreams.
“With technology converging and developing at an accelerated pace, the world will change.
Solar will become the main force when it comes to power generation, AI will become more familiar, and we will see innovations take place when it comes to driving and transportation, with outer space also arriving within our reach.”
Accelerated progress requires new materials in short periods of time.
We will continue to innovate and advance our core technologies to create materials that are demanded both by the changing world and by new markets. We are fully committed to realizing a sustainable society by integrating our core technologies with new markets.

Strategy for R&D

We envision four areas of focus for our R&D efforts: the electrode field, the rocket propellant field, the semiconductor field, and the new functional materials field.
The electrode field is an essential field for electrochemistry involved in areas such as energy storage and hydrogenation. We will focus on innovative, high-performance electrodes as a development theme and contribute to the achievement of carbon neutrality. With respect to the rocket propellant field, with respect to the rocket propellant field, we will actively engage in customization and expansion of applications for 'space' and 'defense' purposes, contributing to security and abundance of "space" and "sky". In the semiconductor field, where technology is growing rapidly, we will focus on R&D to meet the needs of the next generation in markets that are becoming more diverse. We will develop and provide wafers no one has ever seen in line with the new needs that are seen. New functional materials, such as conductive materials and optical materials, continue to see constant growth. We will continue to work on the refinement and innovation of core technologies in an effort to address the technological needs of various devices that support the popularization and deployment of AI, CASE, and other such items in particular.

Core technologies and the R&D strategy of Carlit

We will modify and advance our core technologies for markets that are seeing significant growth. In particular, we will accelerate research and development in the following four areas.

Practical application of the “highest-efficiency electrodes” being developed

In the near future, demand for electrodes will change drastically and will grow by leaps and bounds.
The cost of power generation using solar cells will be less than that involving fossil fuels. In order to store electricity that cannot be adjusted (large power storage) and to convert it (hydrogen generation and CO2 capture), a large number of electrodes with extremely high performance becomes a must.
In order to achieve carbon neutrality, we are working on top-priority research and development efforts which are directed at innovative high-performance electrodes. (Joint research with leading research institutions and companies will also take place)

Expansion of development for adaptation

We have developed a solid propellant for commercial rockets for the growing space industry. In order to significantly expand demand, we will continue R&D in relation to commercialized propellants and further work on their development to suit a wide range of fields.

R&D and supply of specially-customized, small-diameter, high-performance wafers

Small, new devices continue to make our lives more convenient. Smartphones and cars are equipped with many sensors and filters. The continued growth of that number means that significant growth is happening. New devices continue being actively developed so as to provide new functions.
Smaller diameter wafers are used for smaller devices, but large manufacturers have not started to offer them, and customized wafers are very difficult to obtain. We will develop and provide wafers no one has ever seen in line with the new needs that are seen.

Innovations in core technologies for conductive and optical materials

Conductive and optical materials with improved functions have seen steady growth and are being used continuously. We will continue to work on the innovation of core technologies in line with the technological needs of various devices that support the popularization and deployment of AI, CASE, etc.
